The Directorate of Mission and Outreach exists to equip the local church for effective mission and evangelism.  Click here for some reflections on developing a comprehensive, parish-based approach to evangelism and mission.

IFTo carry out this comprehensive vision, the Directorate has seven units:

1.    Youth and Student Ministries
2.    Mother’s Union and Family Life Programme
3.    Outreach
4.    Christian-Muslim Relations
5.    Boys and Girls’ Brigade
6.    Discipleship

7.    Intercessory Prayer Ministry

Youth and Students unit reaches out to youth in educational institutions as well as school dropouts by organizing conference, missions, games and sports, and music and drama.  We equip youth workers for evangelism and discipleship and prepare them for mission work.

Mothers Union supports families through capacity building, parenting, and income generating projects and evangelizes in order to have God-fearing families.  Family Life Programme focuses on  enhancing the building of relationships between couples and peer groups so as to work together in order to improve the quality of life, alleviate poverty, and training for discipleship within families and communities.

Discipleship programmes are focused on training diocesan leaders to implement discipleship programmes in their dioceses and local congregations. In addition to partnering with a number of parachurch ministries, provincial support for Discipleship programmes is focused in two areas:

  • Provincial Strategic Discipleship Ministry (PSDM)
  • Pastors Equipping Network (PEN)

Intercessory Prayer ministry provides training for trainers at the diocesan level to teach the Biblical basis for intercessory prayer and best practices in promoting group and personal intercession in congregations.
