The Rev. Canon Captain Titus Baraka assumed the position of Acting Provincial Secretary on 1st September 2017. He also serves as the Provincial Coordinator for Mission and Evangelism.
Canon Titus was commissioned in 1986 as a Captain in the evangelistic ministry known as Church Army, and ordained in 1989. He received a Bachelor of Divinity degree from the Bishop Tucker School of Divinity and Theology at Uganda Christian University, and a Master of Theology degree from Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan (USA). He was made a canon of Mukono Diocese in 2009.
Canon Titus has been instrumental in establishing a number of strategic ministries in the Church of Uganda, including the Words of Hope Radio Ministry, and the Bethesda Counseling and Discipleship Ministry.
While Canon Titus has held a number of significant leadership positions in the Church, he has said that “Mission and evangelism, blended with counseling, healing and deliverance are at the center of my ministry zeal. Training, empowering and equipping mission and ministry teams are at the center of my ministry approach. Knowing Christ intimately, developing Christian Character and making him known are my heart’s desire. I also have a burden for rekindling vision and zeal among clergy and church leaders through Pastor’s conferences.”
